What are the Pros and Cons of an IVA?

Are you thinking about an IVA (Individual Voluntary Arrangement)? Wondering what the pros and cons are? Here is a small list:
PROS
-no more interest or late payment charges from your creditors
-repaired credit history after five years
-creditors can not take legal action against you for your debts
-one monthly payment instead of many
-no more annoying telephone calls from creditors at home or at work
-you will be debt free once the IVA is finished
CONS
-you will not be able to obtain any additional credit during the course of the IVA, unless you have equity in your home
-your credit rating will be damaged as the IVA will be attached to your credit report
-your name will be added to a publicly accessible database
-you will be required to make a fixed monthly payment for every month up to five years
-an IVA lasts two years longer than a bankruptcy
